Access to quality healthcare remains a major challenge in Somalia due to prolonged conflict, weak health infrastructure, recurrent disease outbreaks, and limited healthcare resources. Vulnerable populations, especially women, children, persons with disabilities, and displaced communities, often face significant barriers in accessing essential health services.
HLDI believes that healthcare is a fundamental human right and an essential pillar for sustainable development and resilience. Our Health Programme focuses on strengthening community health systems and improving equitable access to quality, affordable, and life-saving healthcare services.
Through integrated and community-based approaches, HLDI supports preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative health services while strengthening local health systems and community health awareness.
HLDI works closely with local health authorities, health workers, communities, and development partners to improve healthcare delivery and public health outcomes.
We also strengthen local health systems by supporting and improving referral pathways, enhancing health facility capacity, and supporting community health structures.
