The brush clearance and community engagement project was borne out of an early situational assessment conducted in April 2020 by NIS-Foundation that established the roads.
Purpose
The purpose of the project to clear overgrown brushes along two roads into and out of Janaale which is part of the Daryeel program which aims at undertaking recovery and reconstruction activities in newly liberated areas. Janaale town was identified as one of the recently recovered areas from Al-Shabaab (AS) control on March 16, 2020 and is of strategic importance to the Federal Government of Somalia as it is the passage way to the liberation of other towns/villages the region.
